KKU Medical Sciences lecturer in joint research with Japanese university
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vichai Uengphinitphong of the KKU Associated Medical Sciences department was invited by Japanese university to be a lecturer taking part in research at Kumamoto Health Sciences University, Japan under the exchange program of personnel of the between two institutes from December 2-3, 2011.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vichai Uengphinitphong gave a lecture on “Thai massage and Motion Analysis” to the students of the Graduates Studies College. He also took part in research conducted on the effects of Thai massage to walking, which Prof. Dr. Akaike Norio of the Japanese university performed as a model for Thai massage services.
The Associated Medical Sciences Faculty, KKU signed an academic cooperation agreement with Kumamoto Health Science University, Japan in April 1, 2009 , with the purposes of building up experience and with the best practice as well as research studies presented to the university lecturers and students.
The visit to the Japanese University this time has yielded good results and it is expected that both institutes will work further in conducting joint research and consultations, particularly among the Masters Degree students on Thai massage and Motion Analysis.
