KKU Students Union takes part in Songkran Parade to honor HM the King

Members of the KKU Students Union organized a floral Songkran float with carriage to join  in the procession of a traditional Isaan Songkran  festival and the Dok Koon Sieng Kaen Flower and Music festival on Khao Niew road in Khon Kaen on April 13, 2012.

This annual festival was organized by the Khon Kaen Municipality and saw participation by community members and working agencies with 20 Songkran floats, including the float represented by the KKU Students Union as the honorary float in the Songkran procession. 

The float was created to honour His Majesty the King. There was also an honorary procession of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha ChakriSirindhorn’s trophy, a dance troupe joined in the parade to honour His Majesty the King and floral floats and Buddha images were also in the parade.

Mr. Kritaya Narat, Chairman of the Arts and Culture Division of the KKU Students Union, who was also the organizing committee of the Songkran parade project, said that this year’s float emphasized the respect and honour paid to His Majesty the King and the unique identity ofIsaan people and the region.
