KKU Science Faculty announces selection for 11sth POSN Physics Olympiad

The Faculty of Sciences, KKU announced its selection as the host for the 11th annual POSN-Physics Olympiad: 11 thTPhO at the meeting room of SirikunakornBuilding,KKUwith Mr. Thanawat Ploysophone, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen as the chairman on April 25, 2012.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Trairattanasiricha, the KKU President was joined by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kiart Saeng-arun, the Dean ofthe Faculty of Sciencesand Assoc. Prof. Dr. WitthayaAmornkitbamrung, head of the Department of Physicsin announcing the competition will be held from April 30 – May 4, 2012at the Faculty of Sciences, KKU.
Thisannual competition is heldin cooperation with the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, the Faculty of Sciences, KKU and the Institute for Sciences and Technology Teaching Promotion.

The Physics Department, Faculty of Sciences,KKU has been assigned by the Promotion of Academic Olympiad and Development of Science Education Foundation to be the host of the competition where morethan 100students from 14 educational institutes nationwide will take part in the Physics Olympiad.

The competition will have categories for both theory examination and practice emphasizing on their experiment.  An award presentation will be also held for the winners.
