KKU signs agreement with Bangkok Industrial Gas Company

On May 25 in the meeting room of Sirikunakorn Building at Khon Kaen University, KKU President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai and Chaiwat Niyomkarn, Senior Director for Commercial Affairs Management Division of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement.

The cooperation agreement focused on education, personnel and staff  development, knowledge  management, and research dealing with frozen food and industrial production and concerned industries as well.

The private company will help support, promote and facilitate job training, training courses, and information for special education case studies, as well as, supportfieldstudies and visitsfrom KKU personnel,staff and students.

Apartfrom  that the  company also encourage students to take advantage of on the job training  at Bangkok Industrial Gas, Co., Ltd as well as provide them the space and equipment  for further research projects. KKU will also support academic and research work, as well as PR networking to disseminate their work under research projects.

The bilateral agreement has been effective since May 25, 2012 and remains in effect for five more years.Under the agreement, the KKU assigned Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiartfah Tangjaijit, a lecturer to the Machinery  Engineering Department,  Engineering Faculty  to further study and improve the  efficiency of the Z Tunnel Freezer.

The Bangkok Industrial Gas (BIG) Co., Ltd. was established in 1987 from a joint investment betweenThai shareholders led by Bangkok Bank (Public) and Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.,a leading, world class industrial gas firm in business for 70 years and with more than 40 branches worldwide.

The BIG Company provides industrial gas togetherwith installation of distribution stations and production system, with modern technology for customers. Their safe products are up to worldstandards with the experienced teams offering several kinds of gas products such asoxygen, nitrogen, helium, carbon dioxide as well as engineering and designing services.

BIG has  ready - made products and services  to help support industries  from heavy industry to petroleum refinery, chemicals, iron, electronics and other industrial products such as food and beverage industries , cars, auto parts, car tires, cement, agricultural products, waste water treatment system, laboratory operations,alternative energies and etc.

This cooperation agreement was signed between the Government University and private industry in order to develop the reach of studies at KKU and present their students’ academic work to be used for product development and improve national business competitiveness.
