On Thursday June 21st, 2012, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) conducted “Respect Your Teachers” (or Wai Kru) ceremony for the first time at the KKUIC. The ceremony was held in order to officially let the students have a chance to pay respect to their teachers and to promote Thai custom to the foreign faculty and students. This event was convened in the conference room on the 9th floor of the Information Center Building. The activities started with chanting the Wai Kru followed by singing the song “Prakhun Tee Sam.” The President of KKUIC Student Union led the vows, then the representative students of each programs carried the Paan (tray and offering objects decorated by followers) and presented to the teachers on the stage.  At the ceremony, KKUIC also presented certificates to students with the highest accumulated GPA from each class and to properly attired students (KKU uniform) of academic year 2011.  There were a lot of KKUIC members, both Thais and foreigners who attended the event.
